The team at Mayo Rape Crisis centre recently undertook training with Dr Lhara Mullins on Autism/Neurodiversity, designed to support the team in continuing to create and maintain a safe and supportive environment for autistic service users.
Dr. Lhara is a lecturer in Health Promotion at the University of Galway and Director of the BA Social Care Programme. Her practice background stems from community care with older people and she is active in all things equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) related on campus. Dr Mullins has authored two books on the topic of autism and neurodiversity, in 2022 and 2024, and provides unique and innovative autism awareness training to teams both on campus and in the community.
The team was delighted to participate in this valuable training as as part of the Centre’s ongoing commitment to inclusion and accessibility, and for the information and insights shared in the session.
