Mayo Rape Crisis Centre is looking to recruit an Assistant Manager who will work closely with the Director of Services on a part-time basis for a one year contract.

The key responsibilities of this role will be to support the operational function of the service and to provide administrative support to the Director. Experience in report writing and funding applications is desirable along with some experience in the Charity/Not for Profit Sector.

Job Description

Title: Assistant Manager

Reports to: Diector of Services

Role Details

The role of the Assistant Manager Mayo Rape Crisis Centre is to support the operational function of the service and to provide administrative support to the Director of Services.

 

Overview of Main areas of responsibility.

  • To assist the Director of Services in ensuring organisational compliance with statutory, health & Safety, sectoral and network standards.
  • To manage the centre effectively and efficiently in line with key operational requirements
  • To promote good governance arrangements ensuring that the values, ethos and ethical commitments of the service are always upheld.
  • To deputise for the Director of Services and accept any delegated tasks therein. This may include the preparation of reports, funding applications, attendance at meetings including SLA.
  • To assume a lead role in local employee development and work with approved agencies on such matters as needed. This may include training and development.
  • To assist in the development, review and monitoring of operational policies and procedures including oversight of GDPR.
  • To assist in the production of Service Agreements, Annual Reports and forward planning reports and to ensure that these are produced in time.
  • To assist in the implementation of strategic plan and evaluation of its progress. This will include producing policy and position statements in accordance with the plan. Identify and source other funding streams for the organisation and complete application processes for same.
  • To assist in developing/monitoring the organisation’s website.

Person Specific

One year of people management experience (preferably with a client focus)
Previous experience in report writing and funding applications is desirable.
Some experience in the Charity/Not For Profit Sector (preferable)
Absolute commitment to confidentiality, equality and an inclusive working ethos.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Zoom etc
  2. Excellent standard of communication both verbal and written
  3. Knowledge of risk management.
  4. Ability to motivate staff in the provision of excellent client services.
  5. Creative and energetic with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  6. Knowledge of service improvement.
